Over the Tigers' final 12 games of the year, Kama was at her best posting double figure dig totals in each of those 12 games. Additionally, Kama posted a career-best 30 digs against UC Riverside on Nov. 7 as the Tigers took down the Highlanders, 3-1. On top of her defense, Dancyne posted 16 service aces, tying her career-high set the previous season in 2007. Her 16 aces was third best on the team while posting the highest serve percentage (.959) on the team.<br /><strong><br />2007 (Sophomore):</strong><br />Dancyne settled into a back row specialist role for the Tigers in her second season at Pacific. She appeared in 24 matches for the Tigers in 2007, seeing time in 89 games. Dancyne's experience as a setter allowed the Tigers a secondary option when necessary. Kama reached double figures in digs in 10 matches last season, including a season-high 15 digs in the Tigers' 3-0 loss to Ohio State. Dancyne was pressed into service as the Tigers' setter during the final three matches of the season after an injury to starter, Shannon Krug. Kama responded with her first double-double of the season with 19 assists and 10 digs in Pacific's 3-0 win over Fresno State on Nov. 23. The following night, Dancyne delivered a season-high 43 assists in Pacific's 3-2 win over Cincinnati.<br /><strong><br />2006 (Freshman):</strong><br />In her first season with the Tigers, Dancyne assumed the starting setter position from the first match. Injuries, however, limited Kama to just 15 matches as she tore two ligaments in her left ankle in pre-match warm-ups in the Tigers' Sept. 21 match against Cal State Fullerton, forcing her to miss just over two months. Dancyne returned in the final two weeks of the season, closing 2006 with 47 assists and nine digs in the Tigers' 3-1 win over Houston on Nov. 25. Dancyne returned to the Tigers' lineup on Nov. 16 as she delivered 33 assists and 17 digs for her seventh double-double of the season in Pacific's 3-2 loss to UC Irvine. Prior to her injury, Kama nabbed back-to-back double-doubles against No. 10 Cal (Sept. 14) and Yale (Sept. 15). Her 31 assists and 10 digs lifted the Tigers to a 3-1 win over Yale, while Dancyne posted 25 assists and 10 digs in Pacific's 3-2 loss to No. 10 Cal. Kama picked up a career-high 18 digs in the Tigers' 3-1 loss to Marquette on Sept. 8. Dancyne had the best match of her young career at Pacific as she posted career-highs in assists (53), kills (four) and attacks (six) in the Tigers' 3-1 win over Montana on Sept. 2.<br /><br /><strong>High School/Club:</strong><br />Kama graduated from Kamehameha High School in 2006. A four-sport athlete, Dancyne earned a combined eight letters in volleyball (three), paddle (one), basketball (three) and track (one). As a setter, Dancyne was the MVP of the Haili Invitational B Division and was a First Team member of the 2004, 2005 and 2006 All-Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) Volleyball Teams. Following her senior season, Dancyne was named the 2005-06 All-BIIF Player of the Year. On the basketball court, Kama played in the post for the 2005 Kamehameha HS girls basketball team that won the Hawaii Division II State Championship.<br /><br /><strong>Personal:</strong><br />Dancyne Kama is the daughter of David and Kaui Kama. She has three siblings, Duchess, Sweetie and Punohou. In her fourth year at Pacific, Dancyne is a communication major.<br /><strong><br />Johnson On Kama:</strong><br />"Dancyne has been the heartbeat of the team for the last three years.
